Sale Style

I always say style costs nothing and for me the sales have historically yielded some fantastic bargains, I’ll share my favourite finds over the next few days, starting with my favourite today’s Top Shop shirt.

I’ve been looking for a check shirt and found this take on the classic check, with a mixed print floral body and check arms. It practically jumped off the rails at me! Reduced from £38 to £18 it’s an absolute bargain. I’ve teamed it today with Top Shop skinny jeans and my trusty old Kate Moss for Top Shop knee high boots.

Gig style

So, what does ones wear to a sweaty rock gig I found myself asking the other night? I was off to see Queens Of The Stoneage and knew I would be in the middle of a packed crowd of thousands, so my trusty skull vest was dug out, teamed with the ever trusty Top Shop skinny jeans and comfy wedges (3 inches to help me see).

I wish I could remember where I got this vest; it’s done me proud over the years, but I honestly can’t think where I bought the thing! I do remember it was cheap though, around £12.

As I always say, style, costs nothing 🙂

Bargain style

The other night I had to get a new dressing gown and slippers for my 6 year old. Being that they grow out of things so quickly, I tend not to spend a fortune on such items and instead pick them up at Tesco or Asda.

While I was in Tesco getting said items for said child, (which btw were a bargain, £12 for dressing gown and slippers), I had a quick browse in the sale rail for ladies wear and lo and behold found a beaut of a top for work for just £4!!

I’m so pleased with this, teamed here with Top Shop Skinny jeans and Primark shoes (£8). I even kept it on to go to the cinema that night and threw my Miss Selfridge jacket and Primark scarf on with it.

So good is this wee steal of a top, a work mate commented, ‘oh love the Zara top.’ Emmmm thanks…. 😉

Style, costs, nothing. Well maybe £4.

A bit of McQueen

Another cold day calls for another scarf and today’s ensemble was teamed with one of the most worn items in my wardrobe, my beloved Alexander McQueen scarf. I’ve worn it countless times in the few years I’ve had it, so when you think about it, the hefty cost of £140 for the scarf, which now retails for £160 has worked out at pennies per wear 😉 and it’s worth every penny!

Ladies who lunch

Yesterday I had a very rare day out with some dear girlfriends who I don’t see nearly enough of! As usual work, kids and life gets in the way, but yesterday was our day; a whole day off from everything other than chat, laughs and of course some liquid refreshments!

We met at the gorgeous Blythswood Hotel in Glasgow and went on to a fabulous lunch at Jamie’s Italian. After there were cocktails at The Corinthian and One Up. So my outfit for the days festivities was smart casual, day to night wear that I felt comfortable and just dressed up enough in.

Skinny jeans, Top Shop, boots, Kate Moss for Top Shop, blazer, Top Shop and new blouse, a steal at £10 from Primark!

Pretty prints

I’m not huge on colour, but every now and again, a print catches my eye and I have to have it. This gorgeous blouse jumped off the rails at me in Primark the other night and, reduced to just £5 I snapped it up!

I love the kimono style top, I have a few like this. It feels feminine and pretty and so easy to throw on with a pair of skinny jeans, these from Top Shop, for work. It would be great with a vest or cami underneath in the summer, but today I wore a long sleeve white basic from H&M to keep warm!

I’m also wearing one of my favourite accessories just now, this turquoise arrow necklace from Top Shop….it was a steal at just £2.50.

Like I say, style costs nothing 😉
